Bolinao Falls: The Cascading Beauty of Bolinao, Pangasinan

Bolinao, Pangasinan has been on top of my list since I started travelling around the country, and with blogs and write-ups telling how beautiful and serene the province is, I know that there's more too see in this place that is basically untouched and not that well publicized. Thus, I'm happy to stumble upon knowing Bolinao's cascading beauty, the Bolinao Falls.

Located at the northern part of the town, 30 minutes or less from the town's central, you'll be guided by some rough road to this beauty that will refresh you even before you see the rest of the town. I suggest if you are planning to go here, you have already arranged a tour with the hotel or resort that you are staying in for it is a little far from the usual tourist spots. It was Puerto del Sol, our resort for our Bolinao trip, that arranged all our trips then, so, yeah, I'm highly recommending them if you haven't booked any hotel or resort yet here in Bolinao, Pangasinan.

Leveling to the beauty of its sister town, Alaminos that has the well-known Hundred Islands, Bolinao shouldn't be missed for its virgin sites that will definitely add excitement and wowing moment to your trip here in this Pangasinan.

I honestly didn't know that this humble town possesses such beauty, and to much more delight, it was likely untouched, different from the other waterfalls that I've seen so far. And with the Bolinao Falls that is first on our itinerary, I know that this trip is gonna as awesome as this falls' beauty.

Bolinao 2

Bolinao Falls is actually divided in to two, Bolinao 1 and Bolinao 2. I dunno why the locals have to create such names to them, but I do hope that the local government will kinda name them properly. These two waterfalls are only 10 mins apart, but kinda hard to find since the place isn't really that developed.

If you are going here with your family, and if you are coming with kids, I highly suggest that you go to the second falls, where there are picnic tables that are for rent and where most of the visitors go to. There's even halu-halo stand on its entrance, so it's easier to find.

Bolinao 2 posses a photographic look perfect to add to those postcard-ish picture collection of your. But if you want the one with an adventurous appeal, and if you are going with your thrill-seeker friends, the first one, with its height and dangerous facade, this is one worth the thrill, really.

Bolinao 1

There are no changing area on the first one too, so its really more a communing with nature, if you'll ask me. But as for the beauty, well, since the water is coming from higher ground, teh veil of this waterfalls is much more enjoyable to look at.

One thing that I find fascinating about these place too are the red dragonflies flying around. I love dragonflies, but I think this is the first time that I saw a red one. So cool, right?

So, if you still don't have any plans this coming summer, why not head up north and enjoy a mix of experiences at Bolinao, Pangasinan? With the the beauty of these falls, there's no doubt that these are the cascading beauties that will make your summer more fun.

Happy summer and happy Rammmpa, everyone!

  3. During our visit we just wasted our time to go there. The locals said the Bolinao Falls 1 is closed to public and not that attractive from previous years. There are several mosses (lumot) on waters and if you still want to take a glance on falls 1 you have to take a risk so we decide not go there.

Falls 2 is crowded though we just can say "pwede na".. Some mosses on the shallow parts that makes the rock slippery.
We take a picture on it and it is true "maganda sa picture".
Entrance is 20 pesos/person.. So if you have a group of 10+ advisable to get a cottage of 130 pesos and the entrance will be free of charge.
Parking is 20 pesos, we paid the parking fee even we didn't got wet..

The road is very rough. Not advisable to smaller vehicles like cars. Hopfully the local government pave a road to this spot.
