Amélie Hotel Manila: Your New Boutique Hotel in Town

Manila has been in the shadow of the more advanced cities of Metro Manila for years now. And though it may take some more years, decades or even century to gain back the glory that this prime city once had, it is slowing moving as it continues an exemplary experience not only to its residents, but also to its guests.

A few days ago, I was invited to be a part of a hotel opening in the red-light district of Manila City, the Malate. Bustling with people from different walks of life, Malate was made popular by its rich history in the early 1900s and was followed by blinding truth inn the 80's and 90's. Though lately, Malate is loosing it limelight, it seems like it is taking anew direction, something that would entice more local and international tourists to see the place.

Highlighting the colorful past of Manila, Amélie Hotel Manila recently opened its doors to the public offering a well-rounded city experience painted with red, black and white.

Inspired by the bohemian spirit of old Malate, Amélie Hotel Manila incorporates works by contemporary artists in Manila today. “We wanted to bring something new to the Malate scene by giving our guests a sampling of Manila’s local contemporary and hip culture. We will be collaborating with the new wave of artists – painters, photographers, graphic designers, fashion designers and musicians in Manila – and give them a venue to showcase their art. By doing so, we will be able to give our guests a well-rounded experience of Manila, Malate in particular,” says Amélie Hotel Manila brand director Mark Abellon.

With the handiwork of noted interior stylist Anton Barretto, rooms are designed in a modern minimalist style with chic furniture, and art deco inspired accents, framed photos or visual representations of fascinating facets of Manila’s culture, and an oversized map of Metro Manila to act as decorative elements. The map that is a design element in all rooms will also serve as an actual guide to help tourists navigate the streets of Malate and landmark the sites of Metro Manila.

Each room has an interesting design motif: a stylized, linear canopy that sets the bed apart and gives the room more depth and dimension. All rooms come with large and comfortable queen-sized beds and equipped with essential amenities such as a 32-inch flat screen LED TV and Wi-Fi.

Guests could choose from their Deluxe or Executive rooms with all the amenities of a comfortable accommodation. Simple, yet striking, each room and hallway is designed to reflect the old-world aesthetic of Manila, a sight and experience set to share an enriching stay.

Completing the wonderful stay here at Amélie Hotel Manila is its official food and beverage concessionaire is Galleon by Mario’s Kitchen. Serving Filipino and international cuisine, Galleon has a wide array of familiar dishes cooked and prepared in ingenious ways. The restaurant welcomes in-house and walk-in guests and is open from 7 a.m. to 12 midnight.

Amélie Hotel Manila is under the management of Paramount Hotels & Facilities Management Co. Inc.

Amélie Hotel Manila service will be an important aspect of the Amélie Hotel Manila experience. “There are many structures like Amélie Hotel Manila in the Malate area, but none offers the kind of service we will give. We are a boutique hotel giving four-star service to our guests. This will be carried out through our professional, efficient, but extremely warm service. It is the small details and gestures given with sincerity that will set Amélie Hotel Manila apart,” stresses Amélie Hotel Manila general manager Jose Antonio Sacluti.

Amélie Hotel Manila is located at 1667 J. Bocobo Street, Malate, Manila. For more details, you may call (632) 875-7888, email inquiry@ameliehotelmanila.com or go to the website at www.ameliehotelmanila.com.
