It's Christmas in Makati City!

Yes, its that time of the year again where Christmas lights are all over the major thoroughfares of Makati Central Business District visible and adding delight to every passerby of this modern and evolving city. With this year's theme "Season of Sharing", get ready to be welcomed by amber-colored Christmas light, white ribbons, colorful rings and arches that depicts Filipino tradition of festivity.

After years of displaying a wonderful and futuristic spectacle on the avenues of Ayala, Paseo de Roxas and Makati, Makati City has brought the dim lights back through a display of amber-colored Christmas lights this year mounted on the trees around the three avenues.

Though amber in color, Mel Ignacio, Assistant Vice President of Ayala Land, said that these lights are still LED lights, which are still safe for the trees they hanging on to. She also added that this year, Makati's Christmas celebration will be going beyond the spectacle and pleasure derived from streets all aglow. The city that makes it all happen is also a city with a heart.

One of the program that is part of this year's theme is the "Tugon sa Bohol." Initiated by Ayala Group of Companies, "Tugon sa Bohol" is a project that aims to reach out to the affected families of the earthquake in Bohol and raise funds for the restoration of one of the churches in the province. They are inviting Makati crowd to contribute for this good cause through cash donations.

In line with this, as early as now, I'm telling you to mark on your calendars these following dates and activities:

November 8 - A Christmas benefit concert entitled "Songs of Hope" featuring the award-winning Loboc Children's Choir at the Tower One Fountain area.

November 11 to 14 -  A photo exhibition entitled "Kisame" will display some of the most notable ceiling paintings found in Bohol. This will be at the lobby of Glorietta 5. Photographs featured in the exhibition were taken from the churches in the dioceses of Tagbilaran and Talibon in 2008.

There will be merchandise on sale in which all proceeds will be donated to the victims of the earthquake. So don't be shy to purchase postcards, shopping bags, and the Kisame catalog! The more the better, really

November 15 - The most anticipated and well-lauded premiere of the Enchanting Lights and Sound show at the Ayala Triangle Gardens will happen. Don't forget to bring your cameras!

November 21 - Be surprise as Makati City lights up the newest and tallest Christmas tree in the National Capital Region. This will be at the newest party venue in Makati, Circuit Makati!

December 2 - 4th Christmas Caroling Competition among Makati High Schools, which will take place in Tower One, Fountain Area.

December 6 - Christmas Around the World at ATG (Ayala Triangle Gardens) by TLC.

Make you wonderful Christmas happen at the city where spirit of sharing, giving back, and generosity is never more evident and alive than during Christmas time. Our Christmas celebration will be more meaningful if we share it to others.
