On its sixth consecutive year, Ayala Triangle Gardens lighted up the bustling pocket of green at the heart of Makati City with unbelievable Christmas lights that dance so well to the Christmas tunes being played around the park. Yep, its that time of the year again for the Ayala Triangle Gardens' Festival of Lights!
Serving as a breather to the hard-working employees of the Central Business District, Ayala Triangle Gardens is now filled with thousands of multi-colored LED lights and blazing full-color laser lights to mark the start of Yuletide cheers in the district.
This year’s Festival of Lights is led by the award-winning Voltaire de Jesus and Luther Gumia, and musically scored by acclaimed musicians and composers Jazz Nicholas and Mikey Amistoso of Watusi Manila.
Unlike the previous years, this year’s show revolves around the three arrangements and musical ideas of the four creators. If you’ll come as early as 6 p.m., which is the starting time of the show, you’ll get to enjoy a New Orleans-inspired show on it's first set. The second set is more upbeat and tribal as it shares rhythms of Africa. The last set is a mix of techno and electronic dance music with our all-time favorite Christmas carols.
The Ayala Triangle Gardens’ Festival of Lights will be shown 30 minutes nightly, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., until January 4, 2016.
Aside from the Ayala Triangle Gardens’ Festival of Lights show, Makati City residents and guests are set to be mesmerized by to heart-warming Christmas light installations along the three main thoroughfares of the district. Replicating 10 of the oldest Philippine churches, Ayala Avenue, Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue are adorned elegantly by designer Zenas Pineda.
Come December, spectators can also join the thanksgiving masses, which will be held at the Ayala Triangle Gardens fountain area every 6 pm from December 15 to 23. On December 17th, the Makati Inter High School Christmas Caroling Competition will be held as part of the tradition.
