A Nurturing Treat for Me and My Mama
When it comes to having vacation, people at my age usually spend their precious out-of-town trips with friends. I'm guilty to such thing, and I won't deny it. First, it is really more fun to be with people who have the same "harot" as yours. You wouldn't get intimidated, and rest assured that whatever you do, naughty stuff included, will be kept really good. But last year, when I have no friend to take with me on this nurturing treat that I won in a contest, I asked the best woman in my life to go with me - MY MOM.
I honestly can't remember when was the last time I took my mom on a real vacation. So, when I asked her to go with me, she was really excited, AS IN! She won't admit it actually, but I can feel that she wanna try Nurture Spa Village for a very long time, since she's a frequent here in Tagaytay City.
Our itinerary was to spent a night at Nurture Spa, a prime tourist destination here in Tagaytay City, have a taste of their sumptuous and healthy meals, try their signature massage, and when we checked out, attend a mass at the nearby church, buy some pasalubong at Mahogany Market and then see our relatives who live here in Tagaytay.
I'm not really expecting much fun on this vacation since I forgot how outgoing my mom is, but I'm surprised that when I told her my plans, she was all up for the itinerary! Wee! And so, as early as 10 in the morning, we were already on our way to Tagaytay. Check-in time at Nurture Spa is 2 p.m., so we left our home early to make sure that we will be there on time to enjoy every minute of this prize.
My mom's facial expression was really priceless when we finally reached Nurture Spa. Every thing in the lobby is her favorite - the sala set, the curtain, the pillows, the garden, the pool - everything!
The nice staff of the Nurture Spa greeted upon seeing us, and then after some interviews, she asked one of the helpers to take us to our room.
Our room is located at the far end of the village, which I think is a perfect room for my first-timer mother. She got to see everything that this place has to offer. From the butterfly garden, floral garden, zen garden and etcetera. And since the whole place has only few guests that time, it made us feel that the whole village was ours.
Our Bed
I barely have a chance to take a photo of my mom in real life, so I really took this chance to ask her to pose for her to have souvenir pictures of the place, which she did whole-heartily.
After that, I asked her if I could leave her because I wanna practice my macro photography skill and her to have a time of her own. I know she just wanna be alone, and I'm glad that with this treat, she had one nurturing "me" time.
By around 6 p.m., we were asked to checked the Village's restaurant. It was then that a waiter is waiting for us to get our orders. I already have an idea how good their food here, so I made some suggestions to my mother on what to have.
After some few minutes, our delicious dinner is up on our table. I had the Chicken Kare-Kare Roulade, while my mother had the Nurture Beef Pochero. We also had the Nurture Spa Green Salad and Soup, which calmed our nerves and set our mood better. The weather is freezing by then, so this is a real nice, warm treat. It was one unforgettable dinner, really!

We were schedule for a massage at 8 p.m., but since we were so full after that delicious dinner, we asked to move it to 9 p.m. The weather got cooler as the night gets deeper, so we decided to stay in room under the sheets while resting our heavy tummies. Hehe.
My mom and I usually share stories, and on this extra special night here at Nurture Spa Village, we shared more stories that we used to do. While waiting for 9 o'clock, we talked about how amazing this whole place and how she loves that Green Salad! She also shared to me other stuff in this place that I haven't seen yet, like the garden behind the butterfly garden, the frogs at the swimming pool and more! Haha! It was one fun night.
By 9 o'clock, wrapped in our jackets, we went straight to massage room where two masseuses were waiting for us. We spent an hour and half of pure relaxation under the hands of the well-trained masseuses of Nurture Spa Village. Love it!
It was one of the best nights of our lives, really! The massage was just perfect!
After the massage, we didn't talk that much anymore, since we both know that a good night sleep is what we should do next. Hehe.
Bacon and Egg Breakfast
Tapsilog Breakfast
The following day, with Tagaytay's cooler weather, we decided to start it with the Village's hearty breakfast. We are still pushing through with our itinerary, so right after my bacon and egg breakfast, and my mother's tapsilog breakfast, we spent our remaining hours by lounging at the pool area, enjoying the greenery and the cool air. Oh, it was indeed a paradise.
An hour before the check out time, we went back to our room to pack our stuff and get ready for the remaining places to see.
On our way out, my mother told me that she wanted to try this again, I just said we'll see. Since I really do not have any idea as to how much all of these costs, I can't promise such thing! Hahaha! Well, my question was answered when the staff asked me to sign the receipt for this treat. And wow! Thank God that all of these are free! Thank you, Aboitiz Power and Chris Cahilig Consultancy for this generous prize! Haha! We really enjoyed it! Really, really enjoyed it! :-)
After that, my mom and I went to the nearby church, the Lourdes Church, to attend a mass. It was Sunday then, and it was just rightful to thank God for all the blessings that he has given to me and to my family - including this wonderful treat!
After that, we decided to hit the market place first before seeing our relatives. Mahogany Market is "the place" for some fresh cow's meat! And in here you could find a line of eatery that offers Bulalo, which is a must-taste when you are here in Tagaytay. We opted not to have any Bulalo that time because the healthy dishes of Nurture Spa Village is really worth savoring!
At Mahogany Market
We dropped by at our uncle's place just before going back to Manila. And as expected, my mother was unstoppable on sharing stories about her stay at Nurture Spa Village. Something that I'm not really used to, but I'm glad that she enjoyed it. I promised to her that if ever I won a Nurture Spa prize again, I would gladly take her again.
I love you, Ma! Happy Mother's Day to you and to all the wonderful mom's out there!
I hope some guardian angel would hear my mother's wish and grant her a stay at Nurture Spa again. :-)
Happy rammmpa!
