The most coveted festival exhibition is here again! And as the summer's heat burns the busy streets of the metropolis, 18 contingents from different provinces and cities in the Philippines once again exemplified an astonishing, colorful exhibition of talents and grace for the Aliwan Fiesta 2011.
I got a chance to witness its last day, and despite of the burning summer heat, I, together with thousand of excited spectators, waited at the Cultural Center of the Philippines area, in front of Aliwan Theater to witness and to dance along the drumbeats of these 18 groups who were vying for the title of Aliwan Fiesta 2011 Champions.
Here are some of my snapshots of the said festivity. Enjoy!
And just like last year, the world stopped as the street dance competition started, making all the witnesses be amazed with all the wonderful use of native products, material and costumes. Truly a magnificent show, but only one team shines brighter among the rest, and just like last year again, Tribu Pan-Ay of Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo bagged the top prize and the pot money of 1 Million Pesos.

Amazing set of photos! I wonder how many batteries you brought to the event, lol.
ReplyDeleteI was there too. I watched the spectacular performances from the bleachers of the Quirino Grandstand. I will surely be back next year!
Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh, I was not able to see them at Quirino Grandstand that's why my battery lasted the whoel night. :-P
