The Aliwan Fiesta 2012

The festival of all festivals has just been concluded, and with 21 contingents from all over the country competed on this year's Aliwan Fiesta, only one emerged as the grand champion. But before we go into those details, let me share to you first the other stunning and world-class performances that the other participants showcased today.

From Luzon, to Visayas, and down to Mindanao, Aliwan Fiesta 2012 gathered all the best festivals in our country to show to the whole of the Metropolitan Manila, and also to the whole country via the generous coverage of TV5, how our nation is filled with colors, creativity and rich culture.

This is my nth time to see this fiesta, and for the nth time, it never failed to wow me and literally take my breath away with the every amazing contingent that they have here performed.

On its 10th year anniversary, Aliwan Fiesta just keeps the color flowing and the music getting louder. No wonder, local and international tourists really spend time catching this festivity.

And so, without further here's a glimpse of what happened earlier.

While the Lembuhong Festival of Surallah, South Cotabato got the 5th Place and won them P100,000, 4th Place goes to T’nalak Festival of the Province of South Cotabato who won P150,000, the 3rd Place was filled by Pintados Kasadyaan Festival of Tacloban City, Leyte who took home P250,000, and the 2nd Place spot was given to Buyogan Festival of Abuyog, Leyte who took home P500,000 cash prize!

As for the Grand Champion, Tribu Pan-ay of Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo made a grand-slam win as they were hailed Aliwan Fiesta 2012's Grand Champion. If you'll remember, they were also the grand champion back in 2010 and 2011!

The competition between Buyogan Festival and Dinagyanng Festival was very tough! But Dinagyang si Dinagyang! A champion that is so hard to beat!

This competition aims to promote the beauty of our country, and I believe, it was well executed with the amazing performances of all of the contingents. It gives me more reason to see and visit more provinces here in country! So, kudos, guys!

Oh, it was indeed a tiring but fun-filled day for the whole country! It was a well-deserved victory for everyone who joined and witnessed this amazing spectacle prepared to us by Manila Broadcasting Network and TV5!

Til next year again! Congratulations, everyone!
Happy rammmpa!
