Ilocos Sur: An Overnight at The Cordillera Inn

Going to Vigan without any reservation during the months of July, August and September is actually the last thing any tourist should worry about. A top tourist spot with a diverse kind of accommodations - from the transient types to classy hotels - Vigan City, which serves as the heart of Ilocos Sur houses more of those accommodation that you could think of that comes with the distinct Ilocano flavor that you'll adore even more.

A top choice among tourists whose main concerns are budget and ambiance, The Cordillera Inn was our home during our visit to the historic, captivating and lovely City of Vigan in Ilocos Sur. A convenient place located right along the cobble-stone street of Crisologo, The Cordillera Inn is a must-go-to place if you really wanna experience how it feels like to be living in an upper-class Ilocano-Vigan life.

With rooms fit for couples, family or even large group of friends, The Cordillera Inn shared to me and to four of my friends an astonishing and memorable Ilocandia experience that I would definitely love to feel again. And despite of being just a walk-in, we were welcomed by a remarkable Ilocano hospitality that added color and even flavor to our Northern Luzon escapade.

Just a few steps from the Vigan Tourism Office, which by the way I would like to commend for being so efficient, The Cordillera Inn welcomes their guests through a showcase of amazing Vigan pieces that will definitely take you back in time.

This is my second time to be in Vigan, and first time to see the interior of The Cordillera Inn, and I must say, that even though it somehow gives me this creepy feel, the interior is well maintained and preserve, which is just perfect to share that old but classy feel.

We wanna spend a day and a night at the famous Calle Crisologo, and just like I said getting room for five  was really a no fuss for us that time. Our room, which is located at the far end of the second level gave us an opportunity to see more of the Inn. And with all of these decorations placed right and left, I'd say that it gives me this my old folks' home feel that is homey  - well, as long as you don't break any of the figurines displayed. Hehe.

Our room, which only cost us around Php3000.00 a night - five beds, air-conditioned, hot and cold shower and cable TV - is really not bad at all. Though the aged walls and ceiling speak for itself, it was fairly neat and convenient to all f us. It comes with breakfast as well and free wi-fi at welcoming lounge. And lastly, a free use of parking lot is also offered, along with a great view of Calle Crisologo in the morning and at night.

So, if you are heading north and need a place that can share you the best of the best - Vigan City's The Cordillera Inn is ready to welcome their guest with their doors wide open. Who knows, if you are lucky enough, you might see the owner of this hispanic inn, Mrs. Carmeling Crisologo, the wife of the late Congressman Floro S. Crisologo - the wife and husband behind the story of Crisologo Museum.

Happy Rammmpa!
